  4. Former Employee – Digital Marketing Manager in Austin, TX

    Recommends

    Neutral Outlook

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Quest Software full-time

    Pros

The company offers flexible work situations and most of the employees were remote before the pandemic. The work is mostly challenging, rewarding, and the people are great to work with. It’s a great stepping stone or place to work for a short stint, but don’t stay too long and use it to build your resume.

    Cons

The morale and inability to stick to any kind of management style. They reorganize and shift people whenever the wind blows. And the gut-kicking layoffs that happen without rhyme or reason – they have dumped good, solid teammates who are knowledgeable simply to flatten the organization and eliminate mid-management, though it’s needed more than the lame-duck C-suite they put in place. They say employees are valued, but truthfully, they is a click in marketing and if you don’t fit it, you’ll soon be gone. Product is fairly tight knit, but the company isn’t investing in it’s own products, rather acquisition only, so there’s not much room for growth.

Current Employee – Full Time Employee

    Doesn’t Recommend

    Negative Outlook

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Quest Software full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The people are the best part of the company and really take ownership for their part of the business. Most people are easy to work with and are cooperative in efforts. Work/life balance is good in most roles. The benefits are somewhat competitive in the US.

    Cons

The workforce reductions have become an almost quarterly occurrence and they go deep and wide. Company employee count is no longer published because it would shock current employees to see how fast it’s reducing. The current C-suite executives have accelerated the reductions and outsourcing to the point where it’s basically a skeleton crew maintaining most systems and products. The corporate culture is severely lacking despite best efforts of HR to try and keep remaining employees happy. Opportunities for career advancement are no longer there. With the regular WFR’s come more responsibilities for those remaining, but there are few to no opportunities for promotion. Merit raises were suspended in 2020 so salaries are no longer current with inflation.

    Negative Outlook

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Quest Software full-time

    Pros

If you like merry go round’s, you’ll love it.

    Cons

Private equity Francisco Partners and Evergreen Capital are doing what they need to do to get their annualized rate of return at the expense of good, hardworking employees.

Former Employee – Support Renewal Representative in Columbus, OH

I worked at Quest Software full-time

    Pros

    – A relatively good opt for someone young who wants some software sales experience. -Easy to get the hang of.

    Cons

They’re paying you crumbs on these renewals. You’ll make like $15,000 commission over the year for selling 5 Million in renewals. That’s not a typo. Also, there’s far too many renewal reps. This could be a well-paying six figure job easy if they would consolidate territories allow reps to take on more responsibility for more pay. Would also reduce turnover, which is high.

    Pros

    some work life balance flexibility

    Former Employee – Information Technology

    Doesn’t Recommend

    Negative Outlook

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Quest Software full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good work/life balance. There are some great people who work there. The company strives towards diversity.

    Cons

Management has very little time for their teams. They often seem stressed & angry because of constant demands from the new ELT. The negativity trickles down. Employees are left without support, communication, or direction. No raises. No advancement opportunities. For the past few years, good employees are regularly discarded for cheaper, sub-par and/or outsourced contractors who don’t know how to do the job which makes everything worse. Profit and not quality or excellence appears to be all that matters.
